As we all know, Japan was struck by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake last March 11, 2011. This has resulted to the deaths of many and the destruction of countless homes. We, the community of anime bloggers can help by spreading the word about the cause. Visit Anime Bloggers for Japan for more information on how you can help. Spreading the word makes a big difference. I’m not in the place to rant about this tragedy and it’s my belief that offering condolences is just insensitive and shows that I try to understand even if I really don’t know what it’s like to face such an ordeal. It’s just being downright oblivious if you ask me. I can only wish for the safety of our fellow human beings in Japan who survived this horrible disaster and hope for the best.

As July approaches, most anime fans, in Japan and all over the world are beginning to worry about the future of anime and manga. Bill 156 also known as Tokyo’s Harmful Books Regulation Law (mistaken for the popular but incorrect Tokyo Anime and Manga Ban) was signed into law last year by the now very infamous Governor Shintaro Ishihara.
