Well, this is an update. Feel free to comment on the translation.

I’ll finish this as soon as possible. I already have about five minutes translated.

Usually, I would have already finished half of this by now, but personal obligations get in the way.

New Projects: Kaede-chan Super Mode and Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Drama CD

It has been ages since I last posted here or AOIA. I’m on the countryside right now and I haven’t exactly enjoyed the luxury of having a lot of free time recently. But no worries; I’m alive and still planning on completing my projects by hook or by crook. Now let’s get to business:

Dang, I really should stop writing about Madoka Magica… NOT: Of time travel, quantum physics, the fourth dimension and Magical Girls

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica continues to deliver excellence with every episode with the tenth bringing us more material to discuss.

They even gave the OP quite a good message to it… amazing, simply… amazing.

I won’t forget the promise we made
I’ll close my eyes and assure myself
I will shake off the overwhelming darkness and move onward

When will I once more be able to see
That future that we lost?

I’ll move forward in this world
Shattering the overflowing shadows of anxiety again and again

Time now begins to tick away incessantly
Let’s open the closed door
While carrying our unchanging feelings

My heart is awakened in order to paint the future
Even if I come to a halt on a tough road
The sky will wait for me in its blue glory
Therefore I’m not afraid
I won’t be disheartened anymore no matter what happens

My friends were there when I looked back
They gave me a warm hug as we met

In the world where everything was wrong
The only safe place was my salvation

Our feelings will be stronger by sharing our joy and sorrow
If my voice can reach you
I’m sure that a miracle would happen

I won’t forget the promise we made
I will close my eyes and assure myself
I will shake off the overwhelming darkness to move onward
No matter how big a wall there is
I will definitely cross over it
Believe and pray for tomorrow

While I was wandering in the collapsed world,
I came to you as if I was drawn to you

My heart is awakened in order to paint the future
Even if I come to a halt on a tough road
The sky will wait for me in its blue glory
Therefore I’m not afraid
I won’t be disheartened anymore no matter what happens

I will surely look forward to tomorrow

The Makings of a Hero

I think the true hero of this show is starting to be taken lightly.

In fiction, heroes are usually allies of Justice, Love and Friendship or some other idealist notions of goodness in society. In superhero media, includes your comic book heroes and your Mahou Shoujo, the  superhero is often presented with conflicts and problems which can be solved using their almighty powers or sheer disregard for ther own lives giving them the ability to stand up to situations which are unfavorable to them and then turn the tables to their favor. Whether they die or not, is purely up to the writers, but usually, the hero succeeds in attaining his goal or at least getting his/her message across. This is why most adventure/superhero comics tend to appeal to the moral obligations of people when writing their stories. Those who do dare to contest these notions have their works appreciated mostly by the literature niche. Continue reading
