Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo: Anata to Koibito Tsunagi

Like its predecessors, Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo: Anata to Koibito Tsunagi (A Kiss for the Petals: Joined in Love With You) is another yuri visual novel by Fuguriya. The series touches upon the different kinds of yuri relationships, with some even attracting controversy. Anata to Koibito Tsunagi is the third game in the series, and focuses on the relationship between an honor student, Mai Sawaguchi and the tsundere transfer student, Reo Kawamura. (English patch now available) Continue reading

Why? No, Seriously… Why? (Part 2, Yuri Edition)

Being an anime fan and being a big sucker for heartwarming stories above all, I tried to explore different types of anime: shoujo titles, seinen titles and some shounen titles until I had nothing left on what I’d consider then to be morally acceptable for me. Sadly, though, not many series seemed to give me a dose of heartwarming as much as Clannad and it’s second season did. Continue reading

The Second Installment: Sono Hanabira 2~Watashi no Ouji-sama

I’ve been wondering why this pair is not given the attention that they deserve. And now that I have finished playing through the game, I felt even sadder because Kaede and Sara truly deserves their moment in the Yuri spotlight, yet not too many people believed so. But now that an English patch is out, I am quite positive that more people will be able to see the light. Continue reading

School Days and Human Psychology

I decided to post something about School Days since Overflow released a remake of this rather unique game. *Spoilers ahead* Continue reading

Yummy, Yummy Yuri… Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo

I have a very soft heart for yuri. When I was informed that this visual novel existed and an english translation was already available, I lost let’s say… 2 liters of my blood through my nose (in my mind, at least).

Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo (A Kiss for the Petals) series focuses on pure, clean yuri relationships (none of the icky stuff [futanari and blah]), between different pairs of girls (one pair for each game). The first game, Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo is the cornerstone of probably the most successful yuri game franchise ever. Continue reading

Sharin no Kuni: A Perfect(?) Society

Ah, my first eroge review…

“…There is no such thing as society.”

-Margaret Thatcher (1925)

Sharin no Kuni: Himawari no Shoujo (Country of the Wheel: Girl of the Sunflower) by AkabeiSoft2 is one of those visual novels that left a mark in my heart. It has an amazing story, very likable characters and has the great potential to change one’s views about society. Continue reading

OreImo and Society’s Views on Subculture

I just got back from watching Episode 3 of OreImo (thanks, Mazui!) and I have to say that this is certainly a masterpiece that everyone, not only the niche market can enjoy. Some people try to stay away from this series because of presumed incestuous themes that the anime may hold. To make it clear, there is no, nor there ever will be, incest in this series. This series clearly shouts CUTE LITTLE SISTER all over the place, Kirino being a model and all, but I think that this series will turn into something more on the life and hardships of otaku in general. Continue reading
